Nyima

Nyima is the Director of the Yogic Medicine Institute. She is also a Buddhist teacher and director of the School of Yogic Buddhism. She emphasizes a comprehensive approach to spiritual and physical health through utilizing the Yogic Sciences to address one's environment, lifestyle, body, emotions and mind. She is a Clinical Ayurvedic Practitioner and has been training in Ayurveda since 1999 including studies with  Drs Smita and Pankaj Naram in India, the Ayurvedic Institute and Derrick Pawo. She is a Vastu practitioner and she is the creator and director of the Hatha Yoga Teacher Training and Yoga Therapy program at the Yogic Medicine Institute. She began teaching Hatha Yoga in 1997 and has completed advanced studies in Ayurvedic Yoga, Classical Hatha Yoga, Hatha Yoga and Yoga Therapy. She is also a practitioner of the muscle testing and nutrition system known as QRA and teaches classes at YMI on nutrition, lifestyle and meditation. Along with Derrick Pawo she is the founder of the Health Educator Training which trains health practitioners in kinesiology and nutrition. She offers classes at YMI in Buddhist studies through the School of Yogic Buddhism, where her students know her as "Rinpoche," the honorific title for a Tibetan Buddhist Lama. She is ordained in the Nyingma tradition, in the Yogic lineage of Buddhism, which is a non-monastic tradition. These teachings emphasize the importance of relationship, work, family and formal spiritual practice for discovering the essence of Buddhist wisdom. She shares advanced teachings in a direct and essential way, making them accessible to people in all walks of life.
